Operating with honesty, integrity and transparency is not only the right thing to do – it is critical to the continuing success of our business.
In an organisation as diverse and multinational as BAT, it is essential that we work to a consistent set of rules and standards of behaviour across the Group. This is particularly relevant in the complex and challenging times we face today, such as political change, economic instability, and increasing external expectations and legislation.
Our Standards of Business Conduct (SoBC) comprise the core global policies that express the high standards we are committed to upholding, covering topics including Speak Up, bribery and corruption, political contributions, tax evasion and money laundering.

We believe that manufacturers and retailers of tobacco products should be allowed to communicate with adults who choose to consume tobacco. Our intention is not to persuade people, whether adults or youths, to start or continue smoking.

BAT’s Supplier Code of Conduct complements our Group Standards of Business Conduct by defining the minimum standards we expect our suppliers to adhere to in order to supply goods or services to any BAT Group company.
This builds upon our long-standing commitment to operating to the highest standards of corporate conduct for both our own business operations and our wider supply chain. It also supports our continuing commitment to respect human rights and uphold international standards, including the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
